I am getting emails into my junk folder in Japanese and with purchase orders (I think)from Amazon.com.jp. The concern is that my Apple email is contained in the body of the text. I am v careful about the use of my Apple ID - I don’t use it with Amazon. How have they got my Apple ID?
Some junk emails involve the sender simply trying random email addresses and hoping some of them are valid. They have the technology to automate the process so they can send out scam emails to tens, maybe hundreds, of addresses every minute.
Either that, or once upon a time you may have entered the email on a website whose privacy policy includes a clause that they share your data with third party providers, from which anyone can mine the data.
