Too many steps to file Mail emails on iPad

With the latest updates (26.1 etc) - Apple mail has changed. Now it takes so many steps to file every single incoming email, it is so tedious & time-consuming & inefficient. Perhaps I am doing something wrong. On my iPad, to file an email, here are the steps required as I see it:

1) click Select at the top of the page

2) tick the email to be filed

3) click on the folder icon at the bottom of the page

4) click on Move Message

5) pick & click the folder you want it filed in

5 steps...for every email. Crazy? What am I missing? Thanks for the help.
