Keyboard emoji shortcut not working on macOS Sequoia

Keyboard emoji shortcut not working on MacOS Sequoia.

I've never been able to get this keyboard shortcut to work, since purchasing my new Macbook Pro M4 MAX. But now, I am wondering why. I also prefer the older shortcut, Control+CMD+Space -- that worked fine, for many years -- I literally have that entrained in my keyboard skills. Now, the simple shortcut key (globe/fn) doesn't work. It never has.

How can I make my experience better? Can I tune this shortcut back to what has been a standard feature? Is there a known bug?

Thanks!

I don't use anything of that sort. The only terminal program I run is iTerm2, and I have made no adjustments -- it's worked in the past, and would AFAIK only impact settings within iTerm2 windows.

I didn't ask about terminal programs. iTerm2 is rather unusual. I'm taking about one (or more) of the dozens of system modification apps. These apps, unlike iTerm2, are extremely popular.

I can't begin to guess which ones you have installed. You've said that neither the old nor the new shortcut works. But they both work for everyone else. What's different about your setup?
