is there any way to get the location of the area code when someone calls? for instance if a 208 number shows up it lists Boise ID...I used to have a phone that did this.
This gets less and less useful, as area codes really no longer exist; we all have random 10 digit numbers in the North American Numbering Plan, which covers the US, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean. While most numbers are still associated with geography simply out of legacy, this is fading fast. An associate of mine just moved from New Jersey to Maryland, but his phone number is the same as it was in New Jersey. And with VoIP phones you can choose any number you want. When I make calls from China on my AT&T iPhone the caller ID shows me in New Jersey. How useful is that?
