iPad Pro has started to delete my photos randomly

I don't delete them

I have plenty of cloud storage

How can I stop this other than by saving them in Google photos

Also verify there are no other devices that are using your account by going to Settings > [name on top], and scroll to the bottom to see the list of devices.

When using iCloud Photos, any photo deleted from a device seen there will also delete them from your iPad. It can also be done by signing into iCloud on the web if someone else knows your credentials.

iCloud storage means nothing if you are not using iCloud Photos. Otherwise all photos are stored on your device and you will need the device storage space.
