Facebook Reels not playing in Safari on MacBook Air

Facebook videos play but not reels starting today macbook air - everything was functioning as expected last night. Today, it started with nothing playing on Facebook, then videos came back but reels won't. I've cleared everything, restarted, deleted all extensions. Everything works as expected in Chrome so I'm thinking it's a Safari thing. Everything works as expected on iphone running on the same network so it's not that.

I've tried everything I feel safe trying as recommended by what I found while researching the problem.

Thoughts?
