Apple Music static on M4 MacBook Pro built-in speakers

When attempting to use Apple Music on an M4 MacBook Pro, suddenly today there is static during playback. This wasn't happening the last time I used Apple Music. To think that using an Apple service that I'm paying for, with an Apple Music product, on an Apple device, and to hear static like this a record from the 60s on a broken player is completely ridiculous. I cancelled my subscription immediately, because this should never ever happen, not even once with all of this expensive technology. I might as well just go buy the records I like and play them on a record player. At least I own it. I may try other services as well for convenience but this is completely unacceptable. What did I do to debug it? Restarted, that's about it. I'm just trying to use the built-in speakers for goodness sake.
