Remove "Share your name and photo" from iOS Recents

How do I remove the line in the recent call list that says "Share your name and photo".

I have name and photo sharing turned off in both the messages app and the phone app, but this prompt remains and it is just annoying. iOS 26.2

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 26

To disable the "Share Name and Photo" banner from your Recents list, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2. Messages: Scroll down and tap on Messages.

3. Share Name and Photo: Tap on this option.

4. Turn Off Sharing: Toggle the switch for Name and Photo Sharing to Off.

Note: If the banner still appears after turning it off, try restarting your iPhone or deleting one entry from your Recents list to refresh the UI.

Hope this helps!

In iOS 26.2, the “Share your name and photo” line in Recents is a persistent suggestion banner. Even if:

  • Name & Photo Sharing is Off in Phone
  • Name & Photo Sharing is Off in Messages

…the Phone app still shows it as a “helpful reminder.”

Things that do not work

  • Turning Name & Photo Sharing off/on again
  • Restarting
  • Signing out of iCloud
  • Changing your contact card

Disable if you do not want the suggestions.

To improve my understanding of the phenomenon, it would be highly beneficial if you could share a full screenshot (Do not crop it). Visual representations carry a greater impact than written descriptions.

Please remember that this is a public forum, so when attaching a screenshot, please avoid including any personal credentials such as IP addresses, card details, email IDs, Apple IDs, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, phone numbers, order IDs, or any identifiable location information if you are sharing a map.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.
