How to fix Facebook reels not playing on MacBook Pro after Tahoe update?

Facebook Reels no longer play, not just 'auto play' they don't play at all. I have a Macbook pro about 2 years old. I just updated to Tahoe and that's when the problem began. (I know from experience that updating the OS often leads to heartache. The first few updates are not so bad, but once the machine is a few years old the new updates often don't run properly except on a newer machine. Some AI results say the issue is with Facebook, others suggest many 'fixes' on the Mac itself. I have tried all the Mac Fixes. Has anyone successfully solved this problem?

As far as I can tell you are the only one reporting this. I have no issues playing Facebook reels on Tahoe 26.2. They play as they always have. I would first try deleting Facebook website data if you are using Safari to access Facebook.

Safari->Settings->Privacy->Manage Website Data...->type Facebook in the search field and Remove anything related to Facebook.

You’ll need to log back into Facebook after ding this. Test

If you are not using Safari try using it to access Facebook and see if things work. If you are using a third party browser like Chrome then you are basically on your own in term of troubleshooting.
