Have upgraded iPad to iOS 26.2, and now lock screen shows Cupertino time. How to I delete it or edit it to a more realistic city time eg London

Presumably you are currently located within the UK - and not California.

Check your Date & Time settings - in particular your Time Zone:

Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone >

  • Set Automatically - set to ON
  • Time Zone - London

Where on the lock screen are you seeing this time? Is it the large general clock or are you referring to a small widget under the clock?

For the small widget, you can press and hold the screen on the lock screen, tap on Customize, tap on the Widget in question, and then select a different city form the Widget settings. You can also tap on the (-) icon on the corner to remove it all together and add a different widget there.

It’s the screen I get when I first open my iPad, a picture of the Earth, time in large digital format, widgets down left side. Would provide photo but unable to save screen capture for some reason.

Touch-and-hold the Time Widget that shows Cupertino time; this will open a menu. Tap Edit Widget.

You should now see one or more listed Cities. Tap the name of the city that you wish to change - and select the City of your choice (London?) from the list of options.

The question was more about where on the lock screen you were seeing the Cupertino time, not where the lock screen is.

It seems it was a widget after all . As mentioned you can add a clock widget and set it to any city you want if you really wanted to. By tapping on the widget while still in editing mode.

For screenshots, you can go to Settings ➜ General ➜ Screen Capture and turn off the Full-Screen Preview switch at the top. It will then once a screen shot is taken just offer a small preview at the bottom corner and after a couple of seconds save it to Photos automatically.
