GarageBand on iPad Pro M1 impossible to output stereo file.

GarageBand on iPad Pro M1 - cannot export ie ‘share’ a stereo output file. So what’s the point? Answers/ideas gratefully received.

iPadOS 17 was a good one, but by GB not working/blocked once iOS 18 came out, had to update, did so.

Since then, a lot of broken experiences. I solely use GarageBand, to the point of releasing songs on iTunes, Apple Music etc using it. But if I cannot export a stereo file, it is game over.

I hit on ‘share’ like I always did. I hit on 24-bit uncompressed, I hit on ‘open in’ with the weird ‘A’ icon, because the ‘save to files’ never worked…but whether i use this or the files option, it crashes halfway through compiling the stereo audio file.

Disaster for me!

By this set of symptoms, it looks like audio units are not well-written, that’s what fails like that. I need GB to inform the user which audio unit is at fault, that would help massively, there’s 40 AU’s in this single song without trying.

Any ideas? It’s presently a toy. And that accusation, was never really true before. Not life or death, but it’s literally the end of music-making as I know it. It’s either a bad audio unit, or it’s iPadOS 26.2 any ideas welcome. pics below hopefully

Update, still not working, cannot make the failures to share repeatably happen, nor not-happen now. It’s maybe 50-50, not useful. I deleted some tracks in the song, but that didn’t make share repeatably work, also deleted some audio units, that didn’t get repeatable results either. Swiped up and off every other app in background, only four like ‘settings’…again not repeatable in terms of results.

I am not sure I can solve this, unrepeatable behaviour means not amenable to my problem-solving. Help appreciated.
