iPhone 17: Overheating, battery drain, app/call issues

Anyone know why my iPhone 17 has been getting super hot and then my battery drains fast? It doesn’t happen all the time just occasionally. Idk if it’s the phone itself or the newest update? I just got this phone 2 weeks ago. Anyone else having issues?

Side note; I’ve also had issues like apps randomly freezing or crashing, phone calls just not working (dead air no sound at all, phone will just go to a black screen with the little circle loading icon in the middle etc.

Anyone else? The lady at Verizon told me as I’m getting this phone that her iPhone (also a 17) might be defective and that she was gonna trade it in. Very reassuring should’ve known then what I was in for.

iPhone 17, iOS 26

If you’ve had it for 14 days or less you can generally return the item, if purchased from Apple. If you purchased from an independent retailer, you’ll need to review the receipt or contact the store for details on a return. If you’re beyond the return period, let’s trouble shoot the issue and determine if it’s hardware or software related. What iOS version is your iPhone using?
