Apple ID login fails in macOS VM System Settings/App Store

I am using macOS Tahoe 26.2 in a Virtual Machine in Parallels Desktop (macOS inside macOS), and when I try to login to my account from "System Settings > Login" I am getting the error below:

The password is not the problem as I am login into iCloud and into this community forum with no issues. I am using 2FA, but it should not be a problem. Anyone with similar issue? Could be some malware? the VM is fresh installed.

I get the same situation when I try to login in the App Store application.

@leroydouglas thank you for your response.

The host system is a macOS Tahoe 26.2 running on a M1; on that environment I am currently logged in; I am getting the situation on a VM on that host running the OS version.

I have not reached out Parallels Desktop Support,

How could I retrieve more information from the logs about the login process??

If Parallels Desktop provides no insight to the complication

you can reach out to Apple Support and let them drill down on your issue

Is this a beta version you are trying to login to from the VM...?

macOS Tahoe 26.2 is a public release yes— what is you main macOS and what machine is this exactly trying to run Tahoe?

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

is this an old issue, new issue, what changed?

This may well be a known limitation of macOS virtual machines running on Mac computers with Apple silicon.

Have you reached out to your Parallels Desktop Support for this issue

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

Thanks for the link, I have reviewed on the host system where am I logged in, and the weird thing is that the VM appear as a device which is logged in; this could be from a snapshot that I was logged in a few weeks ago, but I restored to a previous snapshot where I was not logged in. I have tried to remove the current device related with the VM and try to login again, but the same scenario. Nothing changed.

I have not reached out Parallels Desktop Support, because I was logged in the account in the past (from the VM), so I didn't think it could be related with Paralleld Desktop. And I had the situation in the past even from the host system (not the VM). Currently the VM is using the shared connection; I can browse Internet with Safari from the VM and logged in this community support and iCloud with no issues from the browser (using 2FA), but not from the settings of the system, nor from the Apple Store application in macos. Currently I don't have more apple devices that I could use to check this account.

It is getting worse! How could I retrieve logs related with 2FA? Yesterday I could access my account in gmail by using passkey, and today from the same laptop, it is not working; using Safari, the system says that there is no credentials for the google account, but I can see that exists the passkey into the device. Thinking that the laptop is being attacked (I had been getting situations for about one year, but now is not possible to manage a day to day). To reset completely the device, I require to restore the firmware and the system, but for making that I require another mac. Does apple allow to reset the firmware in the apple store? I am aware the process take no more than 30 minutes, because in the past the laptop got brick, and that was the only way to restore (but the closer place to do that is about 180km). If there are another way to restore the system without another mac, let me know.
