An individual can still have a personal storage subscription even if part of a family. If it isn't needed, that person should cancel their subscription. Let's say you had a xTB subscription for the family but a single person needed xTB all their own.

"If a family member is already paying for their own iCloud+ plan, they can choose to switch to your plan or keep their own and still remain part of the family.
