Home app: Hue bulb QR/manual entry fails after iOS update

i am trying to connect a Hue smart bulb to the home app and i think the camera/qr code scanner is broken following update to IOS26. It doesn’t recognize or track to any code on the bulb or in the instructions. Using the camera on its own gives a message of no useable data (or something similar) from the qr code on the bulb.

No bluetooth connection to the bulb either (or any bulb—have about a half dozen around the house)

Also the plan B option to enter the code option is bunk as well as it only pops up a 10key pad for input and every code i find is alphanumeric.
