Apple Journal App in OS26 won't let me attach screenshots and files to entries.

I just tried to attach a screenshot to an entry in the Journal app on my MacBook Pro running OS26. The first time, it showed only a little corner of it, but it disappeared. Now it won't let me do it at all.

Also, why doesn't it allow for attaching files to an entry as it does in Notes? I wanted to use Journal as an alternative to the journals I created in Notes, but it looks like Notes is just more flexible.

Am I overlooking something here, or is Journal really so limited?

How are you attempting to attach the screenshot? If I take a screenshot, then tap on the sharing icon (square with an arrow coming out of it) in the top right corner of the screenshot, one of the options to share it to is Journal. If I tap on that, I get a box showing the screenshot with a purple check in the upper left corner. I tap on that, and the screenshot is added.

In my personal opinion, Notes is a much better option. It's more flexible, and your data doesn't get locked in the way it does with Journal. If you want a great, dedicated journaling app, look at Day One. I've been using it for close to 15 years. It's awesome.
