Mac: Background window snaps right after minimizing

Hey! I've been experiencing what I think is a bug on multiple different macbooks. I'm running Tahoe 26.1 (though this has happened prior to updates as well).

Basically, I'll have one window with another window behind it. When I minimize the window in the foreground, the window in the background gets automatically snapped to the right half of my screen. This happens for any application. I do have rectangle installed, but don't see any problematic settings enabled on that and recall this happening before rectangle was installed.

How would I be able to stop this behavior?

You can try Command H to hide a window Command TAB to see and switch to a hidden window/app.

To be honest I never use minimize. There seem to be better ways than this outdated feature(?)

Full Screen...

View open windows and spaces in Mission Control on Mac

Not familiar with your third party app "rectangle"...(?) if in doubt uninstall it.

Verify your settings, see Windows section or the others if there is some interference.

Please note:

The current stable release of Tahoe including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 26.2
