GarageBand core functionality broken in iPadOS 26.2 - fixed length recording broken with Scarlett 2i2 attached

GarageBand fixed length recording broken with iPadOS 26.2.

I got careless and let the 26.x upgrade occur. Big mistake. First recoding I tried to make and found GarageBand core functionality broken. When a 3rd gen Scarlett 2i2 is attached, and 8 bar fixed length recording is selected, the recording blows right by the 8th bar and just keeps going. This doesn’t happen if I disconnect the interface. Hardware= iPad Pro (12.9”, 4th generation).

Anyone out there experiencing this?

Further investigation reveals that if Multi-take recording is ON it works the way it used to and loops back after you reach 8 bars. If it is off, then it keeps recording past 8 bars, but when you stop recording and hit play it stops at 8 bars and starts looping like it did before. When you add a second track it behaves like it used to (i.e., pre 26.x).

Maybe it’s a feature? Anyway, now I’m just turning Multi-take ON from the beginning and am happy again.
