Even the iPhone 17 pro falls victim to the iOS 26(.2) lag

I have the new iPhone 17 pro and despite the hardware of the device, it stutters and lags for no other reason than iOS 26. Lag typically happens navigating the home screen, scrolling websites, using settings, and typing anything on the keyboard. I have taken as many steps as possible to reduce this lag such as reducing transparency, turning off background app refresh, and using a minimal amount of apps that would run in the background to no success.

Please just optimize iOS 26, don't tack on more ridiculous features that bog it down, I just want a lag free experience is all.

iPhone 17 pro and 17 pro Max in our home. Neither has any lag whatsoever on iOS 26.2. Assuming everyone else's does is a bad assumption. If it did, this forum would be blown up with complaints and the tech press would be all over this, but neither is the case.

Also, you're not addressing anyone from Apple here. This is a user to user only forum, which Apple neither participates nor reads for user feedback.

What you need to determine is why 'you' are having an issue. For example, if you have a VPN installed on your iPhone, it can most definitely cause the types of issues you've described. iPhone doesn't need, nor benefit from a VPN, so if you have one, remove it, restart your phone and see if your issues are resolved.

I think something is likely wrong with your phone. I have an iPhone 15 Pro and it is very responsive on 26.2.1; but even my wife's iPhone 13 mini, a much older and slower model, is responsive and quick, also under 26.2.1.

I would contact Apple Service. You don't need to go to an Apple Store for service, other independent shops that are Apple Authorized Service Providers can service your phone. And sometimes they can do remote diagnostics.

Unless you just recently upgraded, you may have something else going on. We can start to troubleshoot the issue or you can have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.

I have a iPhone 17 pro max 2 tb good as a £2000 phone and it lags this is bad for a pro max because apple I to worried about the battery give us the choice for power over battery you can go in to setting to get longer battery but for a phone with the much power to lag and you have to work it hard to get the 120 with your finger I did a test with the app to test the 120 and try hard to get back to 60 if you don’t swipe hard this is crazy for a phone at this price come on apple please give as the full power no point having a phone at this price if we not getting what we paid for this is very poor apple get this sorted or you lose a lot of customers
