Is there a major glitch with 26.2?

Phone is all messed up after the 26.2 update.

(Just took me 20 minutes to get this question posted.)

Also, autocorrect isn’t working.

I have 12 folders of bookmarks when I scroll left from home screen and they fade in like a wave instead of instantly appearing.
I tried to screen shot the sequence from the video .. I hope it makes sense

Sorry I can't make it out from the screenshots, I thought we were talking about Apple Music so a bit confused.

  • Were you able to complete the Force Restart? If you don't see the Apple logo while holding the side button in the last step, you will need to try again to get the speed and sequence of the key presses correct. You have to ignore anything else on the screen and it could take up to 15 seconds while holding the Side button before you see the Apple Logo. It is always possible to perform a Force Restart when done correctly, unless there is a physical problem with the Volume/Side button, but I do not think that is the case.

  • Transitions between Home Screens should be appearing like it does in this video.

  • You can try Resetting the Home Screen Layout. It does not wipe any data on your phone, but will return all apps on your Home Screens to the default position for you to Organize again. I say "try" only because I am not understanding what you are seeing, but that would be something I would do if I had anomalies on my Home Screen.

  • And you also have the option to schedule an appointment with Apple, so they can lay eyes on what you are seeing. They may suggest a Factory Reset or you can do that yourself, just make sure your data is backed up.

Hi, that sure wasn’t my experience or any of my 8 children and grandchildren children on my AT&T account. Could other users be experiencing an issue, sure! But there are too many variables to pin it on the update without some diagnostics. Most of the issues I’ve deal with concerning iOS 26.X.X have been caused by third party apps not being updated and optimized for the iOS.

Some users are being challenged by changes to the User Interface, but those get worked out over time. You can make 1.5 billion users happy all the time.

It is not clear what you mean by 'I did the 26.2 update a few days ago (iPhone 12) and did "remove download"'. Also I am not sure what video you are referring to. I do see an error when you attempted to post, but that has nothing to do with iOS 26.2 and is likely due to maintenance being performed on this site that I have seen other users report as well.

In Apple Music app.

So what are you seeing with your Folders that you are not sure what is going on with them, since I cannot see the video you are referring too..

As for the Force Restart, it is a low level interrupt that works every time as long as there is not a hardware issue with a button press or the speed and sequence of the key presses were not correct. Not unusual to need to try again to get that correct. The OS will not prevent the Force Restart.

Ok, we can continue when the problems with the site calm down. What I can see from the errors in your posts have nothing to do with the OS on your device. Those are server side errors.

I was trying to clean up storage on my phone by removing most of my downloaded songs in Apple Music, then I was trying to customize the poster in my contact info but it wasn’t doing anything when i clicked “done”, that’s when i tried the force start (I’m good at it lol) and froze.

ill try to get explain the folders video as best I can…

when I swipe left from the home screen to go to the next screen is where I have my added folders of bookmarks I want to access easier.

Prior to me removing my music & customizing my contact info, the bookmarks within the folders would already have been visible after the swipe left but now they’re transitioning in until viewable.

I’ve been contacting support for the last 3yrs regarding my phone constantly getting “call failed” & other issues with no resolution including speaking with them for 2hrs last week so I wasn’t really up to doing that again today.

hopefully that made more sense and I explained it clearer.

Also, is there a reason why the first letter isn’t automatically in caps when I post in here? lol
