Missing keyboard shortcuts for dialog box actions

Miss simple Keyboard shortcut to Close, Delete, Cancel an active dialog box.

For example: Return = Save, OK, Continue

Didn't there use to be one? Command+d, Command+.

Line Return Shortcut (Option + Return) gone from OSX? Pages: To my great dismay, the Line Return shortcut (Option + Return) is not working anymore.
