Mac Mini M4 Thunderbolt port stopped working for monitor

My Mac Mini M4 thunderbolt port has stopped working. I'm using it to connect to the monitor, which also uses an HDMI source connected to a different machine.

This has always worked until today when I tried to wake it up, and the monitor reports that it sees no signal from the thunderbolt usb c input.

Any suggestions?

Turns out the internal USB-C hub in the monitor was misbehaving. Disconnecting power from the monitor for a minute restarted that hub and now all is well.

Good find on your end. For the sake of others with the same problem, thanks for sharing the fix.

To expand on what tbirdvet suggests...

Disconnect everything except for a USB keyboard & mouse it you use those, temporally connect the display the HDMI port and startup in Safe Mode followed by a normal restart. Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Then reconnect your display directly to one of the Mac mini's rear Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports.

If that doesn't work, then you need to replace the display manufactures cheap factory supplied USB-C cable with an Apple Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) Pro Cable. https://www.apple.com/shop/product/mdw94am/a/thunderbolt-5-usb%E2%80%91c-pro-cable-1-m?
