My 13 mini does not give me an option within messages to enable SMS and MMS.
I have checked the suggestions re these formats but, again, they do not appear on options within my messages apo.

Oh well, your iPad itself will not be able to send or receive SMS/MMS messages. You'll want to sync them from your iPhone, because even Cellular models are unable to send or receive any calls or text messages; they only connect to the carrier network for mobile internet coverage.

If you enter the messages settings (Settings, Apps, Messages) and look at Send & Receive, does it show your carrier plan / phone number supporting SMS/MMS messaging?
no mention of my carrier (verizon).
it appears to work on my phone but not ipads.
