How do I create a podcast?

A disclaimer, I am a techno-impaired senior. Be kind, please!

Spent two half-days trying to create a podcast and then a YT channel with my iPhone. I have an FDUCE mic and some USB/C cables, etc. I wanted to keep it "simple" by using GarageBand or QuickTime. I'm sure it's there but the cables and software from those apps are crazy confusing for me. Is there a link to just the basics to include placement of the cables and a step by step for using those apps?

Along with that, is there an app that I should upload to make it easier. The sites I see are for professional podcasts with artwork, how to get subscriptions, etc. I do have a username for the eventual channel and have four titles but that's all. Oh, should I actually go to YT to figure this out? Thank you for any help you can provide.
