Thanks for the feedback. I discovered On my Ford Sync 3 menu that I needed to scroll to the right to access more settings and needed to enable Apple Car Play. All is good and my issue resolved.

If the phone charges but CarPlay doesn’t start, the cable is still guilty.
I believe that model is too old to support wireless CarPlay.
Are you saying you couldn't even pair the phone to the truck with bluetooth?
It's possible the head unit only supports a limited number of paired devices. You may wan to check the owners manual or try deleting the other devices from the head unit, then add your new phone.
If CarPlay doesn't detect your iPhone, make sure CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions are turned on, tap Allowed Apps and make sure CarPlay is enabled. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, and then tap Forget This Car.

Thanks for the feedback but I have tried those things. My cable works fine when using an iPhone 15 so I wouldn’t think that is the issue. Also car play is not restricted in my settings. I use car play with the cable however I tried Bluetooth but that wouldn’t work either.
Glad you got it sorted out.
Did you get it fixed? I got a new phone and I’m having same issue.
