I have been having horrible issues with my second gen iPad Pro since iOS 26 update. Barely get 4 hours of use now and the iPad randomly shuts off once the battery gets to 10 percent. Restart it and battery reads 50 percent then shuts off again and back to 10.
i waited a well after the latest update and no better so it is not the reindexing process.
I updated to 26.2.1 hoping they addressed it there but that does not seem to be the case. Also tried clean installs an no improvement.
great device until iOS 26.
As described, your iPad battery may have a fault, or may be reaching the end of its usable life. If the battery has failed or is failing, the iPad may unexpectedly turn-off - or may not successfully boot to a running state even when connected to its Power Adapter.
Are you able to use the iPad while remaining connected to your Power Adapter? If yes, while monitoring the indicated battery state, disconnect the Power Adapter; if the indicated battery state suddenly falls, or the iPad shuts-off, this test demonstrates the iPad battery having reached the end of its usable life:
