Recover old iMovie project, inaccessible Apple ID

Long shot but I am desperate to recover an old iMovie project that I created back in approx. 2006. I think it was on an old Apple account, with an old email address I know longer have access to, nor can remember the mobile number associated with it. Is this an impossible task or is there a way

It certainly depends on where you had it saved on.

In case you saved it on Apple‘s Cloud, using the mentioned account you do not have any access to, it will unfortunately be hard to recover by any means…

Nonetheless, as in this case it would mean for you to recover your old Apple account; Apple may give you an option to provide alternative information to recover your account.

I assume that Apple usually does not terminate any accounts due to inactivity, so depending on how you had it set up, there might be a chance.

If you had saved it on some local drive, I am sure you are aware you would require access to that specific drive to check.

Did you ever create a Time Machine Backup of a Mac that this was stored on? If so, you might be able to dig through it using Finder, or use Migration Assistant.
