Using Tahoe 26.2 on Mac mini, and using iCloud for files. Suddenly, I can no longer drag-and-drop files into Photos. I have to use the File > Import command. Not a bad problem, but certainly annoying. I do not recall changing anything that could affect this. Any ideas? Thanks - mk

When I drag into the open Photos window it depends on the collection that is correctly open, if the Import will succeed. When I have the "Library" selected in the sidebar, the dragging succeeds, but not if one of the "Utility" albums is open or a smart album or the Recently Deleted.

I have the same issue. It seems to accept dragging one photo at a time as always, but if I choose more than one, it "shrinks" the Photos app window and never completes the drop. BUT...if I attempt the drop a second time, it works.
Like Mr. Mark, I'm not a newbie. I move a ton of images into Photos on the regular...this is not user error. There is either a setting that needs adjusting or glitch that needs tweaking. Hopefully, the right people will see this and look into it.
Good to see you, and thanks for the question! What type of image are you trying to drag and drop into your photos application (jpeg/png/jxl/dng/…)? Also, you are highlighting your file, taking it with the cursor and dragging it over the photos application icon, correct?
Yes, definitely dragging it and holding it for a moment over the photos app. I've done this thousands of times before, so definitely well-versed in that skill : )
Image types I've tried are jpg and png--no go. It SEEMS like there's some sort of weird permissions problem because I'm saving my docs in iCloud, but that's not a new development. Nor do I see where to adjust that sort of thing. I've tried rebooting to no avail.
