Safari has many webkit crashes

Safari vs Firefox (Safari has many webkit crashes)

Running macOS 11.7.10 Big Sur

I found in: ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ many (70) crash reports of Safari.

I removed them and the next day the folder was filled with fresh Safari crash reports.

pointing at: Process: com.apple.WebKit.WebContent [3921]

Crashed Thread: 4

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)

Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000

Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

Termination Signal: Segmentation fault: 11

Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0xb

Terminating Process: exc handler [3921]

And much more information.

As I am unable to find the cause of the crashes, I started using Firefox and there was not a single crash.

Has any one experience with this phenomena? Could there be a solution for the issue?

I am using Safari for many years and I don't want to use another browser but because of the crashes, I have to.

There is no newer version, it is the end of macOS 11.7.10

I was referring to trying the websites on a newer version of macOS, yes. Safari on macOS 11 is getting old.

so, there is not much I can do.

Is the issue manifesting somehow? Other than diagnostic logs, that is.

Alternatively, I could use Firefox permanently bc that browser doesn’t crash.

Waterfox, Vivaldi, and other choices, as well. Or if Safari isn’t doing anything noticeably wrong, keep using it.

Well, I am using Firefox now and it works fine, it is just that after so many years of using Safari, it looks unfamiliar to me.

About the crash-sites, I will register a site when it crashes on Safari.

But as said, Firefox is stable and doesn't crash and therefore I will have to get used to the browser.

The bottom line is that Big Sur is outdated.
