How to transfer data between managed and unmanaged iPhones?

I have an old iPhone 14 that was managed through the organization, I need to sync my data from the old phone to the new iPhone 17 that is not managed by the organization. How can I transfer my data and apps from the old phone to the new phone without transferring the management difference. I tried transferring my data straight from old to new but that caused all kinds of issues with the management difference. Please help - Thank you

iPhone 17, iOS 26

Unfortunately, you cannot transfer the data without transferring management. This is for security reasons. The options are to set the device up as new, or have the company release the old device from management, then do an iCloud backup, then set the new device up from that backup. You may be able to transfer data that is stored in iCloud to a device set up as new without setting up the management, but if you're looking to do a quick setup with apps and everything, it's impossible without the company's help.

Do YOU Own this iPhone?:

A, If Owned by the Company:

This is THEIR device, and you should go through them. This is the site for them to go by, before handing it over to you: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

B. If this is YOUR Device...

You need to have your company sign out of their Apple ID on this iPhone. Elsewise, it is useless to you. As for the apps, you'd need to purchase those through your own Apple ID, or maybe through Family Sharing, if available to you.

You should be able to add data that are synced to icloud, if not, then you'll need to ask your organization to unmanage your 14.

Then backup afterwards.
