Unable To Update Or Restore iPhone 14 to 26.2 via Late 2024 MacBook Pro

I am attempting to update my iPhone 14 to iOS 26.2. In Finder I was able to download the update but cannot update the software nor restore my phone. My iPhone has also lost its name and is now showing as simply 'iPhone' on the Finder left sidebar. The phone shows "support.apple.com/iphone/restore" with a laptop icon below it, an 'upward arrow' below that and the connection cable. I went to "support.apple.com/iphone/restore", did the drill and still not able to update or restore. Phone battery fully charged & hooked up to Late 2024 MacBook Pro running 26.2, fully charged. Full wifi signal. What should I do next?

I get the following error message: "The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)." The screen shows the apple icon and a progress bar below it with no progress showing. It stays this way. Once I click 'OK' to close the error message box the phone, as an ejectable disc, stays in the sidebar as 'iPhone' (default generic name, not the actual name of the phone. The phone again shows the "support.apple.com/iphone/restore", laptop icon, up arrow & iPhone connecting cable.
