Why is there banding in the photos taken with my iPhone 17 Pro camera? It shows up at all magnifications except 0.9. I'm on OS 26.2.1.
The banding can be seen on the screen and in the photos. It appears to be related to scanning, but this was not an issue with my iPhone Pro 14.
There is no color banding on the physical proof shown here. It's only in the photos I took with my iPhone.
You didn't say how you're viewing this image. Different apps may treat the image data differently.
If you're using iPhone Photos to view the picture data, then you should check "Settings>Apps>Photos>View Full HDR" and try switching that off (or on.)
If the band moves, it could be the lighting. Try it in the sunlight.
This video shows the problem. In the color accurate light booth I use, the camera does a horrible job, unless I go below 1X. At .9 and under, the problem stops. Go up past .9, and it turns horrible again.
