Tight iPhone 16 case affecting side buttons?

Hi, I am using a hard case (an iPhone 17 look-alike case that cost ₹550) on my iPhone 16. It is very tight and not easy to remove. It also covers the side buttons. Can this damage the side buttons? The buttons feel hard to press. Should I get a new silicone case, preferably a cheap one, that is easier to use?
