Charging cables not working for phone in Europe

I am in Europe; I purchased everything from Apple in Market Mall in Calgary, Alberta. I brought a power book because I do watch lots of videos on my phone and the battery doesn't last all day

Recently, my charging cables have stopped working but my power book will charge my phone. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Some details that I'm wondering about: changing from AC to DC adaptors ie: Canadian to European? Using an adaptor for the wall socket? Power book works but nothing else...why?

I'd be grateful for any help.
