Apple iMac M1 overheating (because of Pages App)

Apple iMac M1 overheating

Apple M1 with macOS Tahoe v 26.2 All other software is updated too.

I'm going to tell you something that might seem silly or even impossible to most people, but here it is anyway.

A little background information first.

I work with a second monitor connected to my Mac, where I keep the tool palettes for Photoshop and other applications, and where I usually also have Pages open with a blank page to take some notes or write something before posting it on the web.

I have Photoshop and Bridge open almost all day long, I'm editing videos in another application. I have Firefox open with numerous tabs. I watch a lot of YouTube videos, etc. I can be doing all of this almost simultaneously and my CPU temperature rarely exceeds 60ºC to 70ºC.

I had never heard my computer fans running until recently and when that happened, the temperature was already above 90°C. It has already reached 102ºC once.

The first few times I started by shutting down what seemed most obvious to me: Photoshop and similar programs, but the temperature never dropped.

Later on, I discovered through the 'Activity Monitor' that the problem is in Pages. Many times I can't even close the app normally anymore; I have to use ‘Force Quit’ and as soon as it closes, the temperature drops rapidly again to 35ºC to 45ºC.

Is this happening to anyone else here?

What could be causing this and how can it be solved?

Thank you so much in advance.

Part 1 of 2

The current FREE version of Pages was recently updated to version 14.5

Be very aware, that Apple has changed their Business Mode to a Subscription Mode

Specifically, to get the Full Featured Pages, Numbers, Keynote and some other Apple Application.

A subscription to Apple Creator Studio also unlocks "intelligent features" and "premium content" in apps like Pixelmator Pro, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and later Freeform.

If going this route the Version of Pages should become version 15.1

Part 2 of 2

Whether getting the Pages 15.1 will or will not solve " Activity Monitor' that the problem is in Pages " I can not say

I can suggest To avoid a game of 20 questions

Download the Application Etrecheck  ( External Link ) directly from the Developer.

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid for added features.
