Move iTunes folder to Music app - best practice ?

I’m trying to migrate my full iTunes library from an older MBP to a newer one and could use some guidance.

Source machine: MacBook Pro 17” running OS X Yosemite (10.10)

Target machine: MacBook Pro running macOS 15.73+

Is there a recommended approach beyond just copying the iTunes media files themselves? For example:

• Copying the entire iTunes folder (library files + media)

• Using Migration Assistant vs. manual transfer

• Any gotchas moving from iTunes → Music.app

Appreciate any advice from folks who’ve done this successfully.
