iPhone 13 Pro Max: Lag, shutdown, data issues when charging

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max currently version 26.2 and I’ve been having the issue recently where every time I plug my phone in to charge it, it starts to lag for a while and then eventually just force shuts off. When it turns itself back on there are usually some strange issues like apps that I’ve given permission to use my photos need permission again, except there is also no option to give them permission in settings. Sometimes all past alarms I’ve made will disappear. One time I like lost all my contacts for a bit. I’ve also at least once not received messages that were sent to me. My location also sometimes turns off when this happens. Restarting my phone myself (or when it inevitably restarts next time I plug it in) usually fixes all of this, but then the next time I plug it in they just all come back like sisyphus’s boulder. It does this with all chargers, apple or not, and I have at least 10 GB of storage remaining on my phone for extra info.

Internal storage cannot be upgraded. It is what it is. So, the maximum internal storage capacity never increases, even if you upgraded your iCloud plan. Learn More here: What's the Difference Between Device Storage and iCloud Storage? Apple Support

So, what to do...

II. Troubleshooting the Battery:

Apple recommends you get a new battery, once the Battery Health reaches 80% or lower. When the Battery Health is 80% or lower, it is time for a new battery.

  1. Go To: Settings
  2. Tap: Battery
  3. Tap: Battery Health
  4. View: [the percentage]
  5. Is it 80% or less?  If so, it is time for a new battery.

iPhone Lagging and the Charging After an Update:

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
