iTunes on Windows not recognizing iPhone; drivers missing

i have a problem where iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone on Windows. i checked the folder for the drivers folder, it was NOT there. i tried reinstalling it by opening the exe installer with 7zip and running the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi file, repairing it, searched google for that exact folder and its files but i still can't find anything. last time i checked, i installed iTunes from the official setup file, if you couldn't tell.
