Word of warning: If the MBA supports it, do the upgrade but beware MacOS upgrades nowadays are like iOS upgrades. Can go forward, never back, especially on 2020 Intel's. On those, downgrading can cause a loss of sync between the three OS installed: the main MacOS, RecoveryOS and BridgeOS that takes care of security. This can lead to irrecoverable failure.
Apple Silicon MBA's (M1, M2, etc.) are somewhat less risky (no BridgeOS needed), but I'd be wary of a downgrade anyway.
The learning curve for this while fiddling with Sequoia on a beloved 13" 2018 MBP cost me its complete loss.
