How to get color back in my calendar widget after Liquid Glass update?

I use different colors in my calendar app. But with Liquid Glass those colors don't translate to the widget on my Mac mini, making the widget a lot less useable. I have tried different settings, but non of them give me colors, only more or less transparent. Can I turn off Liquid Glass completely (I don't mind the look either way), or maybe just for the calendar widget?

If this setting doesn't exist yet, how do I let Apple know that I would really appreciate some color in my calendar widget?
