Where to get an older version of Keynote for OS 13

My iMac is running OS 13.7.8. I didn't realize it doesn't come with keynote. I'm preparing a presentation for a group of 4H kids but I can't just download the latest from the App Store because it won't work on my older system. Is there a way I can get an older version of Keynote that will work on my OS?

Apple's Pages / Numbers / Keynote "come with" a new Mac only if you "purchase" them (for $0) when you were offered the opportunity. If you did not take that opportunity at the time, obtaining an older version may not be possible — meaning, I don't know of a way to do that.

Once upon a time, before Apple included Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for free with new Macs, they sold those programs on optical disc as a suite called iWork.

It may be possible to find original copies of iWork for sale on eBay and other places – the catch being that these copies would be so old that they might not be compatible with Catalina (which broke 32-bit programs), let alone Ventura.

In lieu of that possibility, consider purchasing (for $9) LibreOffice, here: LibreOffice on the Mac App Store. It incorporates a presentation app called Impress, and it will work with your iMac.

You can download LibreOffice for free from the developer's site, although they certainly won't mind if you choose to make a donation.

If you have not previously purchased an earlier version of Keynote, then you may be out of luck.

However, you can check by signing into the App Store on that iMac using the same account info used to purchase your current version and check your previous purchases. If allowed, you might re-download the application there. Maybe an earlier version will be offered, but I doubt it.

Apple is the only distributor of the application.

Paying $9 for LibreOffice may get you Mac App Store updates as they become available, but only you can determine if that feature is worth the money. I have always downloaded the LibreOffice Suite for free from The Document Foundation site, where one can also access the integrated application PDF documentation.

If you have never installed Keynote from the Mac App Store, or it came preinstalled by Apple or a third-party reseller, then there is no means to obtain the last compatible version of Keynote for macOS Ventura. As John Galt has mentioned, the LibreOffice Suite has Impress, its presentation tool. There is Impress PDF documentation at the above link.
