How do I remove a persistent pop-up claiming my iPhone has been hacked?

I have been getting a pop up saying my phone has a virus or some one has hacked my phone it then wants me to download a VPN and it has a count down timer. The pop up looks like the general settings wheel?

thanks Tony

It's a scam. If this is a pop-up window that appeared when you were browsing the Web, you may need to reopen Safari in such a way that it does not "helpfully" reopen the Web sites that you were on. (Then avoid the site that abused your trust in such a fashion.)

I'm trying to remember how you do this on an iPhone - it might take a trip to Settings > Apps > Safari to tell the iPhone to forget stuff, before you reopen Safari.
