MacBook Air: No audio/mic with headphones for phone calls

Can't hear and mic not working , using airpods or bluetooth headphones, when answering phone calls on my macbook.

This is with Macbook Air M4, 2025 running Tahoe 26.2 and iPhone 15 Pro Max with latest iOS version.

To replicate:

-On iPhone 15: Calls on other devices is enabled and calls are allowed on my Macbook

-Bluetooth Headphones or Airpods are connected to my Macbook

-Receive an incoming phone call on my Macbook

-No audio is heard nor transmitted from my headphones

-In Macbook Audio settings show correct System settings on Output & Input

-All works well when on Zoom, Google meet, etc calls. or when I disconnect Airpods or Headphone.
