Trouble getting Home to find Wemo smart switches

I have several wemo smart switches (2 are lights, 1 an outlet) that the maker (belkin) is stopping support for, says can keep using if set up Apple HomeKit (whatever that is), which might require a HomePod, which I purchased. I still cannot seem to get the Home app to “find” the switches. The HomePod mini seems irrelevant. What am I doing wrong?

HomePod/HomeKit Turning On Wrong Lights In Automation I'm running iOS 26.1. My Wemo smart plugs are not supported after January. To slowly convert to Thread and new devices I purchased and added a HomePod mini to my system. Now there is a problem with the previously set automations in HomeKit. For example, I have my living room/kitchen lights turn on at 5:30 AM. After adding the HomePod, the automation turns on my bedroom lights at 5:30 AM as well. Not good. It also turns lights off when they should not. I deleted the automations and started over, to no avail. I relabeled devices "Lamp" rather than "light" to see if that would help. I unplugged the HomePod. I am at a loss as to what to try next. Any ideas, anyone?

control garage door with homepod mini why can i not open and close my garage door with homepod mini using the code in the mersoss app? I can control it using my phone and it doesnt even ask for the code or with alexa or google assistant but they both ask for the code which is expected. why do i need a homepod mini if i still have to do everything from my phone.

HomeKit hubs In iOS 16.5 and associated Apple OS’s, is there a way to choose which device is the HomeKit hub? …and how can I keep my HomePods from going offline? I am not willing to start a new home or massively reset every device.
