Future iOS 18 beta workaround updates are not being offered to modern iPhone models - upgrade to iOS 26.2.1 now

Many people are avoiding iOS 26 for a specific reason. That’s obviously Liquid Glass. iOS 26 is more secure than iOS 18, and there was a report that iPhone SE 2 can handle the iOS after 26.2.1, and this device has the minimum requirements to support this version. So if this device can run it well, all other compatible devices should.

There is also a notice about iOS 26.2.1 where it is the first version to support AirTag 2, and it also ensures that iMessages continue working after January 2027. It also contains bug fixes and some possible security fixes.

There was a beta workaround that allowed users to download and install iOS 18.7.3 for iPhone 11 and later but that workaround was since patched by Apple. Even users who were lucky enough to install iOS 18.7.3 before the patch will not see the iOS 18.7.4 update targeted specifically for iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max models.

So iOS 26.2.1 is a critical release that everyone should download now for iPhone 11 and later. If you are using an XS/XR model, you should install iOS 18.7.4 if you haven’t done so already. If you are still on iOS 18 on an iPhone 11 or later, whatever you have iOS 18.7.2 or 18.7.3, update to iOS 26.2.1 now, the wait for future iOS 26 patched is officially over.

Was your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

I have been updating my devices ever since I bought my first device in 2009. iPhone 3Gs, 4S, 5, 6, SE (1st Gen), 7, 8 and iPhone 12 Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 13, Macbook Air 2019, MacBook Pro 16"

I never had any issues with any iOS, iPadOS, or macOS updates to date.

I would personally recommend everyone update their devices instead of listening to rumors from people who may not have kept their devices free from any spurious software.

iOS / iPadOS devices cannot be hacked or infected with Virus / Malware / Spyware if it is updated to the latest iOS/iPadOS unless you have intentionally downloaded spurious software or unauthorized apps directly from the internet and installed them on your device or/and have Jailbroken

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

This seems purely coincidental, so please check the settings on your device.

Change is difficult to adapt to because it disrupts our comfort zones, introduces uncertainty and fear of the unknown, challenges our sense of identity, and involves letting go of the familiar. However, it's important to recognize that change is an inevitable part of life, and learning to adapt and embrace it is crucial for personal growth and development. With time, patience, and a willingness to explore new possibilities, we can navigate the difficulties of change and find ways to thrive in new circumstances.
