Magic Mouse misclicks on Mac Studio with macOS Tahoe

With Tahoe, my mouse often clicks right beside where I place it, I never had that before.

That measn, as I edit text, the first letter is 'forgotten' and that could be like - refer first sentence: W'ith – truly awkward.

I changed the speed, made my pointer standard size (no enlargement, no grow on shake) and changed the accelleration, no avail. It is really annoying.

Studio, magic mouse (and I must say from my previous iMac)

Battery is 80%.

If a simple reboot of your Mac doesn’t fix things, see if the problem still happens in safe mode. Safe mode will often correct weird software behavior by forcing the OS to clear caches, do disk repair and other self-maintenance and housekeeping and temporarily disables third-party mods.

Does the problem go away in Safe mode?

If so, this may indicate an OS software conflict with your apps.

You can exit safe mode by restarting your Mac normally, then reevaluate the problem.

There was a Magic Mouse Firmware update released for the Magic Mouse with the Lightning connector some year ago

Having this specific Magic Mouse the Firmware is Firmware Version: 3.1.1

There are reports the newer Apple Magic Mouse with the USB-C connector

While 2025 updates were released for the USB-C Magic Keyboard and Trackpad (to version 3.1.9), specific new version numbers for the USB-C Magic Mouse are not consistently reported, as they often update to match the latest system pairing requirements automatically.
