Group texts not sending to all members; and texts showing up in wrong groups / other text chains

Set up:

I have a group text with me/mom/dad.

Plus another group text with me/mom/dad/brother.

I wanted to add in my husband but it won't allow that so I began a NEW group text to me/mom/dad/brother and husband. (iphone/android/iphone/iphone/iphone)

Issue: My husband wasn't getting any of our texts in the brand new text group and they couldn't see his texts either.

Attempts to fix:

Checked his email/number were accepting texts/no filters, etc., toggled messages on and off, rebooted.

Then I started a text to all of us from HIS phone.

Result: Okay, great, they can see his text!

But now I can't. And he can't see mine.

If my husband texts and my brother responds, only my husband can see it and so on and so forth.

AND when someone in the group texts back IN the 5 person group chain it goes to the 4 person chain.

It's a mess.

I don't want to have to blow up all three texts chains. They were working just fine until I started the brand new group text. Anyone figure this out? I can't find anything that works and I'm normally the one everyone comes to for iPhone help.

I'm stumped.
