Face ID unavailable on iPhone after network outage

I’m experiencing an issue with Face ID on my iPhone and would appreciate your guidance.

Due to a prolonged network outage in my region, my device was unable to maintain stable internet access for about almost 2 weeks. During this time, Face ID stopped working properly. I reset Face ID hoping it would resolve the issue, but now when I try to set it up again, I receive the message: “Face ID is currently unavailable.”

Important details:

  • The Face ID option is still visible in Settings and not grayed out

  • The TrueDepth camera activates and scanning begins

  • The setup fails with the same message every time

  • The device is fully updated and otherwise functioning normally

  • The device has not been hit or damaged in any way, it does not heat up, the protective glass is clean and does not create any obstacles for the camera, the Apple account is intact and has no problems.

It has been over a week since stable internet access was restored, but the issue persists.

Could you please advise whether this is a known issue related to network interruptions or security synchronization, and if there are any recommended steps to restore Face ID functionality?

Thank you for your time and support.

If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro - Apple Support

“Face ID is not available” error on my iP… - Apple Community

what AI says

"If Face ID is currently unavailable on your iPhone, immediately restart the device to resolve potential software glitches. Clean the TrueDepth camera area at the top of the screen, check for iOS updates, and ensure nothing (like a case or screen protector) is obscuring the camera. If issues persist, try resetting Face ID in settings.

This video provides a step-by-step guide on how to fix the "Face ID is not available" issue:

Troubleshooting Steps to Fix "Face ID is Unavailable"

  • Force Restart the iPhone: This is the most effective quick fix for unexpected errors.
  • Clean the Camera: Remove dirt, debris, or smudges from the top of the screen covering the TrueDepth camera.
  • Update iOS: Ensure your device is running the latest software, as updates can fix bugs causing this error.
  • Check Settings: Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode to confirm it is set up and configured correctly.
  • Reset Face ID: In settings, select "Reset Face ID" and set it up again.
  • Remove Accessories: Take off any screen protectors or cases that might interfere with the camera.
  • Check for Physical Damage: A damaged front camera may require service.

If these steps do not work, the issue might be hardware-related, and you should contact Apple Support for further assistance"
