I may not know what zoom you're talking about. The "zoom" like effect I was thinking of is "Spatial" where the pictures pretends to be 3D.
One place to look is in Settings>Accessibility which offers all kinds of clever adjustments. There's a section called "Motion," for instance, that has a "Reduce Motion" option which affects OS-wide 3D type effects and other "enhancements." I don't know that will help what you're seeing.
In Settings>apps>Photos there is an "Auto-Play Motion" that I have turned off. This controls those automatic slideshow movies that come up.
Can you describe the zoom you're seeing? Is this the thumbnail zooming into the full screen view?
Have you tried Settings>Apps>Photos>Control for Creating Spatial Photos ? That should do it.
Widgets may still wiggle: a long press and selecting Edit Photos leads to a menu to fix it.
Thank you for the guidance, however the zoom when opening an image is still happening
Thank you, I think I have solved it with an Accessibility setting
Great! I'm glad you found a solution!
