Some things that can cause problems on macOS are the use of anti-virus software, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software including VPNs. If any of these items are installed on your system, then uninstall them by following their developer's instructions.
You can try booting into Safe Mode to see if that allows you to run TurboTax.
You can try disabling "Limit IP address tracking" in the Network System Settings for the network connect you are currently using. This setting can sometimes cause problems with certain sites. See the following Apple article for details:
